Excursion
to Holocaust and Buffalo Soldier Museum
My trip
to museums was great but it made me shocked. We took off from college and
reached to the Holocaust Museum around 12:00 P.M. . . . When we entered to the museum and got an
entry pass. The pass was free and the museum was so small but there were lots
of portraits. There was a big history behind these portraits and was horrible
history about Adolf Hitler and Jews. The guidance of the museum took us and
visited us the whole museum with explanation.
First
of all, one of many things that shocked me how Hitler was so cruel to Jewish
peoples. Each picture has individual story. I was listening to guidance. The way he was
explaining and I was becoming so curious. We passed to all portraits and the
guidance explained us each picture one by one. Then he took us back side the museum. There
were two things. One was ship and the other was like a big truck body. Both
were too old and he also explained the history of these two things.
Then, he took us to
museum’s theatre. The theatre was inside museum. We watched the video of the
prisoners. The video was about 20 minutes. In video there were survivors who
were telling the story of their lives. The video explained how people were selected
to live or die. The stronger, healthier people were chosen to work as slave
labor. The people chosen to live were treated as prisoners. Their belongings
were taken and their heads were shaved. Prisoners were crowded on top of one
another to live and asleep. Some of them had lice on their heads because they
haven’t taken shower for six months.
Next, when we finished
with Holocaust museum. Everyone was feeling hungry. It was a lunch time. The
teacher gave us surprised he had lunch for us. We ate food then we started towards
Buffalo Soldier Museum. It was near to Holocaust museum. It took us 5 minutes
by car to Buffalo Soldier Museum. When we reached there everyone was feeling
tired. When we entered the museum, we directly went to museum’s theatre. They
played us the video of America Buffalo Soldier. They were fighting and video
was taken during the World War 2. World War 2 was the time of Adolf
Hitler. When we watched the video then
the guidance took us to the rooms of museum. There were lots of old things.
These things were used in World War 2. We liked the first museum because this
museum made us bored. Anyway it was experience of the museums.
In conclusion, I
thoroughly myself that day and I realize how valuable museums are because they
can teach people so many things. All I had to do was to walk through the museum
to learn a great deal.
