Boyhood ''Differences between father and his stepfather''

Boyhood

Boyhood is a 2014 American drama film written, co-produced and directed by Richard Linklater and starring Patricia Arquette  (Olivia), Ellar Coltrane (Mason Jr), Lorelei Linklater (Samantha) and Ethan Hawke (Mason Sr). The film was shot intermittently over a twelve-year period, as Coltrane grew from childhood to adulthood; filming began in the summer of 2002 and was completed in October 2013.  Mason Jr and Samantha are the children of Olivia and Mason Sr. . They were living in another state. They were happy family but some misunderstanding they got divorced and her mother decided with their children to move to Houston. The children were not happy leave their father but their mother took them with herself. They reached to Houston and stayed in the children Grandmother’s house. Children started school and Olivia started her college too. After some days Olivia got married with her professor, Bill Welbrock and they moved to Bill Welbrock’s House. Bill Welbrock had two children Randy and Mindy from a previous marriage.  In this film I found many differences between Mason Jr’s father and his stepfather.
First of all, Mason Sr. was a kind of good person and also a good person for their child. He came every weekend took their children outside for enjoyment. They enjoyed every weekend with his father and they were happier than stepfather.  Mason Sr. and Mason went on a camping trip together and solidifies their relationship. However, stepfather didn’t take out children for outing and never talked about a trip. He forced Mason Jr. to get a haircut. Mason Jr. was not happy because of stepfather parenting style, but Mason Jr. was a calm boy.
Then, one weekend, Mason Sr. took the children out and learned that Samantha has a boyfriend. He talked to them both about contraceptives.  It means that he was an open minded person with their children, but their stepfather didn’t talk about their children’s lives and he was so mean to the children. He was strict, such as forcing the children to performed chores.
In addition, Mason Sr. was just a smoker, and he was a calm person. He never fought to their kids and his wife. In contrast, stepfather was a drunker and then he became increasingly aggressive as alcoholism took over his life. One day children arrived home from school, the boys found mother on the ground was crying with Bill standing next to her. Bill has become openly abusive, drinking hard liquor at dinner and breaking several glasses, plates and screamed on their children.
In conclusion, Olivia left this house and move to Austin with their children to her friend’s house. Olivia taught phycology at the local college. The children started a better life. One day Olivia and a friend host thanksgiving party at home, and Olivia met Jim. He was an army. After some days they started living together. As the children grew up Mason Jr. started alcohol and every night came home late. Jim and Mason Jr. had an argument about the coming home late and then mother left this place moved to other house and started living together. Mason Jr. got graduated from high school in the age of 18. Mason Sr. thanked Olivia for raising the kid and Mason Sr. gave the best advice to his children about a good parent. Mason Jr. moved to hostel and started college.

Why Hitler’s Germany Started the Jewish Holocaust

Why Hitler’s Germany Started the Jewish Holocaust

Who was Hitler? Why did he start Holocaust? Adolf Hitler was the leader of Nazi Germany, the instigator of World War 2 and the driving force behind the attempt to exterminate European Jewry, otherwise known as the Final Solution or the Holocaust. He became chancellor of Germany and the war in Europe officially ended. During this time, Jews in Europe were subjected to progressively harsher persecution that ultimately led to the murder of 6,000,000 and the destruction of 5,000 Jewish communities. These deaths represented two-thirds of European Jewry and one-third of all Jewry all over the world. There are three reasons: a political situation, economic factors, and discrimination.
First, Jewish holocaust started because of politicians. Hitler started on a political career in September 1919 at the age of thirty with no formal qualifications. Then he succeeded in gaining and exercising supreme power in Germany and his political career began in Munich when he joined the German workers’ party, a tiny group of extreme nationalists and anti-Semites who saw their role as trying to win over German workers from the international Social Democratic Party, and in the aftermath of the defeat and revolution, to persuade people that Jews were primarily responsible for Germany’s plight. In spite of that, Jews had economic problems.
Second, economic factors during Hitler time were so bad for Jewish. He took a broken country made from the Treaty of Versailles and appealed to the people by restoring 1st German pride, fixing unemployment, restoring the German Mark, and blaming all their people on the Jews. By doing this he gave all the people a common enemy which united the country, and people were suffering due to financial crisis and put the blame on the wealthy Jews. For example, the Nazis boycott was underway when a dress shop in Berlin displayed a sign in its window saying ‘‘Germans defend yourselves don’t buy from Jews.’’ Jews businesses sales went down. Therefore, suffering with economic problems they were discriminating by German people.
In addition, discrimination of Jews in Germany from 1933-1939 caused Jews to be discriminated against in many different ways. It was a time in 1933 that Hitler became chancellor. Hitler was to create a master race and he said that it was the Jews that were stopping Germany from being great. He also blamed Jews for Germany losing World War 1. Nazis used the Jews as scapegoats for all of the problems in Germany such as social and economical depression. He also used media to spread their views across Germany in an attempt to convince people the Jews were burdens on the community. German people hated Jewish people and they didn’t want to take out Jewish from Germany because they wanted to keep Jewish as slave and to show their hate for Jews.
In conclusion, as you can see the political situation was bad he put all blames on Jews and the economic crisis for Jews had problems in businesses. The discrimination for Jews was a German slave. After that the killing of the Jews continued right up to the final days. Soviet forces approaching the underground bunker in Berlin where he had been holed up since early 1945 and then Hitler committed suicide.

Jobs

Jobs
What is a job? A situation where a person works for someone else and gets pays by them. A job consists of duties, responsibilities, and tasks. A job also includes the physical and social aspects of a work environment. Nowadays everyone considers a job is a very significant thing in life. There are several types of jobs including telecommuting jobs, full-time jobs, and part-time jobs.
First, telecommuting is a job where a person can do work from anywhere and it doesn’t required a person to work an office. Telecommuting is working from a remote location outside of a traditional office. The remote location can be at home, a coffee shop, or hotel room. The Internet, fax, phones, webcams and instant messaging are some of the technological advances that enable this type of work arrangement. Most telecommuters work for the financial industries, the high-tech industries and the communications industry. Even though telecommuting opportunities are great for single parent homes and those with physical disabilities and are very benefit for them. Besides telecommuting we have a full-time job.
Second, a full-time job where a person does work 5 days and 40 hours per week or more. Full time employment comes with benefits that are not typically offered to part-time and temporary jobs. A full-time job is often considering career. Employees can become settled in this position, not just in the workplace, but also as far as setting up their own time and money to fit their lifestyle. However, some jobs are part-time as well.
Next, a part-time job is nowadays related to students and most of the time students apply for part-time jobs because students want to support their needs. In a part-time job, students work for 20 to 30 hours per week and days depend on their schedule. Although part-time jobs are very important for the development of today's youth. They help build responsibility, influence proper choices, build relationships, and even help develop self-discipline.

In conclusion, nowadays telecommuting job goes so fast because of the technology and it helps environment such as reduce the traffic. However, full-time employment has a lot of benefits compared to part-time employments such as companies offer for full time employments medical insurance, daycare etc. Part time employment just pays their salaries. In opinion, everyone should learn computer because most of jobs are telecommuting even though if you are in office you still need a computer for work.

Heart Disease

Heart Disease

Heart disease affects so many people that it has become a serious concern about medical science. The heart is a complex organ that is vulnerable to hereditary as well as environmental risks. Cardiologists think of these risk factors as either major or minor causes of heart disease. There are several major and minor causes of heart disease. The first major cause of heart disease is family history. Family history risk is included people's DNA and you're at a higher risk for developing heart disease if your parents and grandparents have had a heart disease, that gives you higher risk than if one of your relatives has heart related problem. Also the other major cause is high blood pressure because the heart works too hard, so it damage arteries. When it damages arteries, damaged arteries can not deliver enough oxygen to other parts of body. In addition to high blood pressure can damage brain. Furthermore, high cholesterol levels cause heart disease as well. It is dangerous because fatty deposits build up in blood vessels. For example, a person who doesn't carry about his or her cholesterol balance of eating, they can damaged their body with high cholesterol eating. Another major cause of heart disease is diabetes. It can lead to hardening of the arteries and heart attack. The people should carry about food into glucose for their body. The last major cause of heart disease is smoking cigarettes. Smoking cigarettes affects people's life negatively. For example, smokers are two or three times more likely to have a heart attack than nonsmokers. As a result of smoking cigarettes they can lose some part such as their legs  etc. Moreover, there are several minor causes of heart disease. One of them is type a personality because it is become easily stressed and being overly competitive, aggressive and intense. If a person who can not control his or her stress, aggressive or intense feelings, the person can increase risk of heart disease. Other minor cause of heart disease is sedentary lifestyle. For example, the person who works out enough, they can reduce their risk of heart disease. Furthermore, the last minor cause of heart disease is obesity because it contributes being extremely overweight. Also the person who does not have a good diet, he or she influences his or her life badly. Finally, the heart diseases have had both major and minor causes in our life. Those are family history, high blood pressure, high cholesterol levels, diabetes and smoking cigarettes from major causes of heart disease. On the other hand, minor causes of heart disease are type a personality, sedentary lifestyle and obesity. The major and minor causes increase risk for a heart disease in people’s life; therefore, everybody should care about their life from these risks factors.

Excursion to Holocaust and Buffalo Soldier Museum

Excursion to Holocaust and Buffalo Soldier Museum

My trip to museums was great but it made me shocked. We took off from college and reached to the Holocaust Museum around 12:00 P.M. . . .  When we entered to the museum and got an entry pass. The pass was free and the museum was so small but there were lots of portraits. There was a big history behind these portraits and was horrible history about Adolf Hitler and Jews. The guidance of the museum took us and visited us the whole museum with explanation.
First of all, one of many things that shocked me how Hitler was so cruel to Jewish peoples. Each picture has individual story.  I was listening to guidance. The way he was explaining and I was becoming so curious. We passed to all portraits and the guidance explained us each picture one by one.  Then he took us back side the museum. There were two things. One was ship and the other was like a big truck body. Both were too old and he also explained the history of these two things.
Then, he took us to museum’s theatre. The theatre was inside museum. We watched the video of the prisoners. The video was about 20 minutes. In video there were survivors who were telling the story of their lives. The video explained how people were selected to live or die. The stronger, healthier people were chosen to work as slave labor. The people chosen to live were treated as prisoners. Their belongings were taken and their heads were shaved. Prisoners were crowded on top of one another to live and asleep. Some of them had lice on their heads because they haven’t taken shower for six months.
Next, when we finished with Holocaust museum. Everyone was feeling hungry. It was a lunch time. The teacher gave us surprised he had lunch for us. We ate food then we started towards Buffalo Soldier Museum. It was near to Holocaust museum. It took us 5 minutes by car to Buffalo Soldier Museum. When we reached there everyone was feeling tired. When we entered the museum, we directly went to museum’s theatre. They played us the video of America Buffalo Soldier. They were fighting and video was taken during the World War 2. World War 2 was the time of Adolf Hitler.  When we watched the video then the guidance took us to the rooms of museum. There were lots of old things. These things were used in World War 2. We liked the first museum because this museum made us bored. Anyway it was experience of the museums.

In conclusion, I thoroughly myself that day and I realize how valuable museums are because they can teach people so many things. All I had to do was to walk through the museum to learn a great deal.

Types of Cars

Types of Cars

Cars, a necessary transportation tool, are becoming more and more significant in our modern society. Using a car is faster than taking a bus especially when time is limited. It does not have to stop as frequently as a bus, and at the same time, it is much easier to keep to a tight schedule. However, some people argue that cars cause a series of problems, such as air pollution, energy crisis, but cars have a greater beneficial effect on the society. Technology has changed and engineers discovered different types of cars. Here are three different types of cars: Google Cars, luxury Cars and Sport Cars.
First of all, the Google Driverless Car is a project by Google that involves developing technology for driverless cars. The technology is fully automated car that doesn’t need a human diver. A car controls through google satellite map. A designed of a car seems non-threating. It helps people accept self-driving. It can make traffic worst in the future. It’s a device that installed on a roof of a car. Device installed on a compact car for example, Toyota Yaris.  A car has a lot of functions that includes laser sensors, camera, car radar, and estimators. Laser sensors alert hazards. Camera is in front of the car it works to detect a light signal. It detects red, yellow or green signals if there is a red signal a car stops automatically. It has estimator in the wheels. It controls a car and keeps a car on tract. That car is not allowed in all states is just allowed in Nevada and Florida. Later in 2017 it will be allowed for all states to buy a car.
Second, there are many major classes of cars in today’s world. They are the luxury cars which are made up mainly of Rolls Royce, Bentley continental and Mercedes and the economy cars made up mostly of Honda, Toyota, General Motors, and Ford. There is a very larger price difference between these two classes of cars. What you’re paying for in an economy car is to get you from point A to point B in a little bit of comfort. In a luxury car you are paying for performance, safety, more advanced technology, and superior design. These qualities are needed for the car to be considered good but they increase the driver’s quality, comfort and luxury wherever they are driving.
Next, Sports car is an automobile designed more for performance than for carrying passengers or luggage. Sports cars are known for their light weight, speed, nimble handling, and appearance. They feature special equipment, and with few exceptions manufacturers make only limited numbers of them. Most sports cars are two-seaters with low ground clearance and with generally favorable power to weight ratios, these cars often accelerate more quickly than other automobiles do. Sports cars have performance tires and advanced suspension systems. Sports cars often serve as a means of testing new automotive technology before it becomes common place in everyday vehicles. Famous sports cars include the Chevrolet Corvette, Lamborghini, Bugatti and Ferrari.
In conclusion, every car has their own features and it depends on a person which car a person likes. These google cars will be more helpful to poor people and that future car will change the people lives. Luxury cars are too expensive and these luxury cars use by rich people.

How to Pass Driving Test

How to Pass Driving Test

Driving tests are one of the scariest things you will ever have to do and one of the hardest too. Getting your driver’s license test causes you to have more freedom. You can do whatever you want, whenever you want, as long as you have your car. Unfortunately, many teenagers have trouble passing this test the first, or even second, time that they take it. So here are some tips that will help you to pass your driving test. First of all, pick up the driver’s guide where you will find everything that will be on both the written and the actual driving test. You will learn the basic rules of the road, when to pull over emergency vehicles, and speed limits in various zones, how to handle accidents, and more. When you pass the test of the book then they will give you temporary permit. Then, you will be able to drive with over 21 years old person. When you finish with your practicing and you are sure for the test that you will pass it then go ahead and make an appointment for the test. There should be no cracks on the windshield and no flatted tires. Arrive at the place before 30 minutes so they can check your car before he or she sits in your car. Finally, when you finish with your test then say thank you to your examiner, and then he or she will get you a report card.

How to Kayak

How to Kayak

What is kayaking? Kayaking is an extreme and popular water sport in America. My purpose is to show you how to kayak. Before you start kayaking, you will need proper guidance and equipment such as paddle, kayak and specific place of kayak. It seems hard to do but it’s easy when you get in. Here are the steps of kayaking.
First of all, you will need to find a good spot where to enter the water. Find an area where the water is calm and there are no rocks and is shallow water. Then get the equipment for kayaking. Prepare yourself by wearing shorts and buying a ticket for entry.
Second, place the kayak in the water and wear a water jacket. Then take both paddles and put in the kayak. After that step one foot in the kayak and then other foot, when you sit in the kayak make sure the kayak’s balance is good. Then hold both paddles and start moving slowly. In addition, if you have a partner then one person sit in the front and the other person sit in the back. When you and your partner start kayaking, then make sure both of you moving the paddles together.
Next, go the middle of the river and do not go where the water is moving fast. When you reach the middle of the water then you can stay there and sunbathe or touch the water with your finger. You will feel good.

In conclusion, come back to your destination as a same process both paddles should move together and balance should be equal. When you reach your destination then make sure do not take step out together. First one person step out and then the second person give hand to the first person. Overall, it is an incredibly relaxing and beautiful way to experience of kayak.

Trip to Discovery Green Park

Trip to Discovery Green Park

My trip day was so awesome. The trip was decided by our writing class teacher. We had planned to Discovery Green Park by the cars. Teacher changed the plan instead of cars he decided we will go to park by metro train. It was my first time to go to park by metro train because I haven’t traveled by metro train in my life. I was so excited for that.
Then, the trip day came and we started off from college by cars with teacher and classmates. When we reached to the train station, parked the cars and bought tickets for parking. It was hot sunny day. We bought tickets for train and cost per person one side $1.25. Then teacher counted the students. Unfortunately some of students were missing. We were waiting for them and sweating, but they didn't show up. They lost the way to station. Anyway teacher called them and said come to park straight. Then we entered in the train and sat on the seats. Our activity was in the train to write one poem at each bus stop. The train journey started and we began wrote one poem at each stop. There were 13 stops. At stop eight rain started and I thought trip will be bad but fortunately it stopped.
Next, train journey was amazing and saw whole downtown from train. When we arrived at our destination stop and there were 15 minutes’ walk to park from train’s stop. Meanwhile we went to the Phoenicia specialty Foods store. It’s a downtown market and a one-stop YUMMY shop. That shop reminded me some old memories because I have been to like those shops in many cities, but it was my first time saw a big YUMMY food shop in Houston. Then we bought food for lunch and continued ahead to park. When we reached to park the missing students were already there.
In addition, we ate food and then some students bought tickets for kayaking. Even though some of students and I didn't buy tickets for kayaking because for me it was hot day and I was feeling so warm. I sat at restaurant in AC with classmates. The students who didn't buy ticket they weren't wanted to wet themselves. So then we were watching our classmates from restaurant's windows who were doing kayak and they were having fun.
In conclusion, we took some pictures for our memories and in the last few minutes teacher told us write an outline about kayak. Then we wrote on a piece of paper the outline about the kayak activity. After finished the outline and we came back to same stop again bought  tickets and took a train. The heavy rain started and finished until we reached home. The whole trip took 3 hours and we enjoyed a lot.  It was amazing for class activity and it gave us lots of information for up-coming test.

How to make Chicken Biryani

How to make Chicken Biryani

What is biryani? Why is it popular? Biryani is a special food of Pakistan. It is very popular in Pakistan because it is one of the national dishes of Pakistan and is served on the flights of Pakistan International Airlines. Biryani is spicy and it made with basmati rice and chicken or lamb. My purpose is to show you how to make this special chicken biryani. For this purpose, we need some equipment such as knife, spoon, crock pot, cooking spoon, cutting board, cup, blender and ingredients for biryani.  It’s hard to make but it’s easy to eat. If you follow these steps it will become easier to make.
In order to make biryani, we need certain things and materials. First of all, the things we need for making biryani: a crock pot, cooking spoon, blender, cutting board and knife. Also we need ingredients for preparing chicken biryani: two white onions, vegetable oil for deep frying, 10 curry leaves, 2 tablespoons garlic and ginger paste, 300ml plain yogurt, 2 green chilli roughly chopped, salt and pepper to taste, one box biryani and 2 cups (500ml) Basmati rice and 3 cups of water and a whole chicken?
Second, heat the oil over medium high heat until a piece of bread browns in about 30 seconds. Add the onion slices and fry until light brown. You may need to do this in batches. Once the onion slices are nicely browned, transfer them to paper towels to soak up the excess oil. They will crisp up as they dry. Now cook the chicken. Add a couple of teaspoons of the oil you used to fry the onions in to a large wok or pan. Heat the pan over medium heat, add the chicken pieces and brown them all over. As the chicken browns, add the garlic and ginger paste half of the crispy onion slices and box of biryani. Stir to combine and then add the 200ml of yogurt and either 400ml more yogurt and stir to combine. Allow this chicken mixture to simmer slowly for about then minutes and then remove from the heat and set aside.
Next, for the rice heat the oil over medium high heat until a piece of bread browns in about 30 seconds. You can make the rice just before you start this recipe or at the end. It really makes no difference. To make the rice, cover the rice in cold water and swirl it around with your hand. Drain and repeat until the water runs clear. Let the rice soak for about 40 minutes in fresh water and drain one last time. Place the rice in a pan with a tight fitting lid and cover with 3 cups (750ml) of fresh water and bring to a boil. When the rice comes to a boil, turn off the heat and keep covered for 25 minutes. Do not take the lid off the rice while the rice is steaming in the pan pre-heat your oven to 200c (400f) and put in the oven. When the rice has been sitting for 25 minutes, open the lid and carefully stir the grains of rice with a fork. Do not stir too hard or the rice grains will break and you will be left with a mushy mess.

Finally, place half of the chicken curry in a buttered casserole dish or large pan and then put half rice on top. Then put half of the chicken curry and again put the remaining rice on the top of curry ten make sure cover with a lid or foil. Place your chicken biryani in the oven and allow to bake until hot all the way through. This usually takes about 10 minutes. When you are ready to serve, mix in the biryani slowly and gently. Biryani is very tasty food in the world even though most of the foreign countries know about that

My Strangest Dream

My Strangest Dream

The other night I had the strangest dream that was horrible. On the way to a mountain in the dead of winter, I was traveling with my friends. I got lost. The situation was getting worse and it began to rain heavily. The wind blew hard and forest tree was making horrible sounds. I felt cold and frightened. I was trembling all over. All I could do was shouted for help but there was no one. The night became darker, the wind blew harder and the rain poured down more heavily. I was near death. Suddenly, my alarm started and woke me up. I was grateful to find that I only had a nightmare.

My First Week of Classes

My First Week of Classes

Fun, worrying, exciting are the feelings of my first week of classes. First, I was so worried about new classes. I have heard from students about reading and writing subjects are very though for the beginners. Most freshmen like me that enter the class are scared. I thought the first week of the class is the easiest there is not a lot of homework. But I was wrong, First day I entered the class of reading. I greeted the teacher and sat on the chair. The reading teacher started to introduce himself and explained everything about the whole week schedule and gave tons of homework. I got excited when I heard the whole week schedule. After finished the class I felt that semester in the summer will be tough. Then next writing class started. The writing class on first day was good. We did introduction and the teacher explained everything our whole week activity. He included 5 activities for 5 weeks for writing class. One activity we did. We went to the Museum of Fine Arts Houston was such a great day. The end day of the week I was so happy for the first week of classes because classes went well and had no problems. I hope the rest of 4 weeks of classes will be easy like the first week’s classes.

Trip to Museum of Fine Arts Houston

Trip to Museum of Fine Arts Houston
Trip to Museum of Fine Arts Houston

My museum trip started off at the Houston Community College at 11:30am to the Museum of Fine Arts Houston. We reached at 12:00pm. I was so excited about the museum.  I asked to the front desk employees we are here from HCCS College. They gave us a little sticker for entry. The entry was free. The teacher was waiting for us in the corner of museum. He gave our activity and explained everything about our activity. Then we headed out to the hall. There were beautiful creative mind of Arts. When I saw piece of arts I felt like I’m in an ancient generation. The first piece of art I saw was a Jar. The Jar was beautiful and the texture of jar was like a stone. It has painted a dragon diagram. The full name of Jar is Dragon Jar. It has blue dynamic lines. That piece of art made me a creative mind. I was making a story in my mind that maybe that Jar was used by a royal family or maybe it represented the authority of beneficence. It was amazing. Next, we headed into the Arts of the Islamic world. I really enjoyed the scribe’s box from Granada, Spain. It looked like some kind of Islamic pirate chest. It was very detailed and medium sized. Late 15th Century made with wood, bone, and metal. The box probably used by a scribe to store writing implements, it conforms to a tradition of wood inlay that can be seen on a variety of Islamic objects and furniture pieces, such as doors and mosque pulpits. Then, we headed to the tunnel. The tunnel was so unusual. It was a small and simple tunnel. That tunnel has some beautiful lights. Lights were changing the colors to red, blue and pink. We took some pictures in the tunnel. I also saw lots of portraits that I really liked. Portraits show about the history of the ruler of king and the life of people in AD or BC. After visiting the whole museum we sat on a sofa and started our activity. Finally, we finished the 2 hours trip and left home. The trip was amazing and was a good activity. It was easy to see things and do free-writing.

My Attitude towards Writing

My attitude towards writing is positive and negative. First of all, I had done some writing  last semester. Even though I have never taken writing classes. I am interesting in learning more about writing but sometimes it makes me bored, and I have to think too much. This is my first time taking a writing class. I have started writing since I joined the college. I really enjoy writing when I’m familiar with topic. Second, when I'm not familiar with topic it's hard to start an essay . Also, I have some problems in writing, but I have some ideas about writing,  When I have a topic  the first thing that I face is how to start an essay. It’s hard for me to start the essay. It takes me a long time to come up with a good topic sentence. Furthermore, I can do a brainstorming but my weak point is I can’t organize the brainstorming points because I'm always confused that  how to put brainstorming points in order. Then I directly start the essay without any organization even when I have no idea about a topic. I have a problem in writing is punctuation. I don’t know where and how to use punctuation marks in the sentences. But I have a positive point too. when I finished an essay I always  proof-read. It helps more in my writing. More than ever before, it’s important to learn the writing skills. I believe that I will improve my writing skills this semester.
